Calculate calibrated STAR scores
- Use IBAT Calibrated STAR Tool to:
o Confirm presence or absence of species [and consider adjusting AoH for species]
o Assess the severity, timing and scope of threats that are present in the area of influence
- As needed, conduct field work, leverage supplementary data sources, such as national red lists and existing surveys, and engage with stakeholders
Assess and evaluate Calibrated STAR scores
- Evaluate the most important threats by reviewing the Calibrated STAR results
- Assess whether the most important threats identified are within your sphere of influence and consider whether you can work with other stakeholders on threats beyond your direct sphere of influence.
- Assess risk and opportunities to the company caused by their involvement with biodiversity impact drivers, and assess opportunities to mitigate these risks.
- Socialise your calibrated STAR results with stakeholders, seek their input and validation of the results and consider how you can work with together on co-ordinated action plans to tackle the threats identified.
- Identify synergies with existing conservation actions in the landscape.
Update calibrated results
- As needed, recalculate the calibrated STAR score using information gathered throughout this stage
